FINAL RITES FOR MRS LOUISE TREIBER HELD DECEMBER 26
Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Treiber, 83. of Battle Creek, Iowa, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 1973, in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev D. Stanley Tyner officiating. Mrs. Treiber died Sunday at Willow Dale Nursing Home in Battle Creek following a lengthy illness. The flora tributes were arranged by Mrs. Melvin Watson and Lynette Smith. Mrs. Ruth Persell provided organ music for the service. Burial was in St Mary's cemetery at Danbury under the direction of the Christensen Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Leo Treiber, Warren Durston, Richard Johnson, Dale Lacey, Melvin Watson, and Norman Berthelsen. Lunch was served in Fellowship Hall to the family and friends upon their return from the cemetery.
Louise Florence Babbe was born November 3, 1890, daughter of Margaret and John Peter Babbe on a farm south of Danbury. She was united in marriage to George Treiber on June 10, 1914. The couple farmed for a short time in Monona County and then moved to Danbury where she made her home until 1961 when she moved to Battle Creek. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, Iowa, and a member of Oak Rebekah Lodge since October 6, 1957. She has made her home at Willow Dale-Home from 1 April 1, 1969, until her death, December 23, 1973.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Treiber, and two sisters. Alma Julian and Anna Babbe.
Survivors include her daughter, Helen, Mrs. Everett Durston of Battle Creek; a sister, Dorothy of Ida Grove; and two brothers, Arnold Babbe of Mapleton and Laurence Babbe of Danbury; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
