Funeral Services For Mrs. Wm. P. Moeller
Funeral services for Mrs. Willie P. Moeller were held Wednesday at the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church. Rev. Walter Baumgartner read the following obituary:
Wilhemine Hamann Moeller, daughter of Peter and Lena Hamann, was born April 29, 1880, in Otter Creek Township. She had her schooling in the rural schools and grew to womanhood in the neighborhood where she was born. On January 20, 1904 she was married to Wm. P. Moeller and moved to the farm where she was born and lived there for 49 years. Four daughters were born to them, Lena, passed away in 1917 at the age of 13, Mrs. Otto (Laura) Christiansen of Schleswig, Mrs. E. L. (Leona) Stiles of Odebolt and Mrs. Henry (Laverne) Weller of Battle Creek. In 1952 they retired and moved to Schleswig where they have since made their home. In 1953 they had the privilege of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. Mrs. Moeller’s health began to fail about three years ago. Last August she submitted to an operation and underwent a second one two weeks ago. The last week she spent in the Denison Hospital where she died Sunday noon. She leaves to mourn her death her husband; three daughters, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one brother. She was preceded in death by one daughter, one granddaughter, her parents, her twin sister, another sister and four brothers. She was a faithful member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church. Burial was in Morgan Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Lenard Kastner, Marvin Baker, Art LaFrentz, Willie H. Moeller, Wilbert Johannsen and Louie Kastner.
