Obituary – Eugene Orville Feddersen
Eugene Orville Feddersen, son of the late Mrs. Helene Feddersen, was born December 2, 1930 near Danbury, Iowa. He was baptized in the Fairview Lutheran Church near Danbury on June 10, 1945 by the Rev. W. Kirk and was confirmed on the same date. He entered grade school at the country school near Anthon and received his high school training in the Ida Grove High School from which he graduated in 1950. After serving for a time in the local National Guard unit, he entered military service May 13, 1952 at Omaha, Nebr., and was discharged from Camp LeJeune, N. C., May 12, 1954. At the time of his unexpected death, Monday evening, June 11, he was employed in Cherokee. He leaves to mourn, William of Cushing, Mrs. Hazel Ashby, Herman Jr., Kenneth of Correctionville, Robert of Holstein, Lester of Anthon, Mrs. Raymond Johnson and Joan of Battle Creek, Mrs. Helene Savage of Red Oak, Mrs. Kenneth Luce of Sioux City, and Mrs. Viola Coon of Moville. Two brothers, Ross and Raymond, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove on Thursday, June 14, 1956 at 2 p.m., with Pastor E. F. Dohrmann and Vicar Paul Donner officiating. Steve Boughton, Raymond Deppe, Charles and Robert Hansohn sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Jesus Savior Pilot Me,” accompanied by Mrs. Betty Christie. Pall bearers were: George Kephart, Robert McCormick, Robert Wolterman, Charles Yousling, Leonard Boysen, and Wayne Gebers. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Battle Creek.
