David Wayne Lorenzen
(February 16, 1958 – August 13, 2020)

GLIDDEN – Services for David W. Lorenzen, 62, of Glidden (formerly of Ida Grove) were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020, at Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home in Ida Grove with Rev. Neil Wehmas will officiating.
David Wayne Lorenzen, son of Wayne and Nola (Cox) Lorenzen, was born Feb. 16, 1958, in Ida Grove. He grew up in Ida Grove and graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1976. He was involved in wrestling and spent many early mornings working on the family farm. On July 16, 1982, David married Cindy Hillmann at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. Three children were born to this union: Jennifer, Amber and Courtney. David and Cindy later parted ways.
David worked on the road, traveling the United States for Buschman’s for many years, installing conveyers in warehouses. David died Aug. 13, 2020, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Nola Lorenzen; his brothers: Michael Lorenzen and Jack Lorenzen; and a grandson, Jett Lorenzen. Survivors are his three children: Jennifer (Jason) Vonnahme of Carroll, Amber (Cory) Sporrer of Glidden and Courtney (Leo) Noble of Ida Grove; their mother, Cindy Lorenzen of Glidden; and four grandchildren: Luke, Noah, Blakeley and Connor Sporrer. Also surviving are a nephew, Zachary Lorenzen of Julesburg, Colo.; two nieces: Heather Lorenzen and family of Panama and Beth Allen and family of Odebolt; other extended family and friends.
