BATTLE CREEK – No services will be held at this time for Laurie L. Petersen, 53, of Battle Creek. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home in Battle Creek is in charge of arrangements. She died Jan. 17, 2021, at MercyOne-Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City. Laurie Lenae Petersen, daughter of Clifford and Lillian (Miller) Reed, was born Jan. 10, 1968, in Battle Creek. She attended Maple Valley High School in Mapleton and then studied at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg. On Oct. 21, 1996, Laurie married Scott Petersen in Battle Creek. They were blessed with two sons: Dustin and Jerod. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Scott Petersen of Battle Creek; two sons: Dustin and Jerod Petersen of Battle Creek; extended family; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
