A. M. Brown, 67, Dies Saturday; Funeral Services Held Here Tuesday, Burial In Ida Grove Cemetery
Funeral services for Alfred M. Brown, 67, who died Saturday, Oct 12, were held Tuesday afternoon at Moore’s Funeral Home with Rev. H. E. Whyte, pastor of the M.E. church officiating. Raymond Wallace sang with Mrs. C. K. Lahman accompanying him on the piano. Burial was made at the Ida Grove cemetery. Pall bearers were Arthur Krick, Perry Hannel, Frank Juelf, Wm. Murphy, Albert Scott and Richard Varner.
Came Here As Youth
Mr. Brown, son of Dennis and Catherine Brown, was born at Kankakee, Ill., February 4, 1873. As a boy in his teens he came to Ida Grove and grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Olive Green July 3, 1908. To this union five sons and three daughters were born. During their early married life, Mr. and Mrs. Brown lived on a farm in this vicinity, later moving into town where he was employed for some time in the distribution of ice and as town Marshall. During the later years he has been gradually failing in health, which ended in his death Saturday. Two sons and one daughter preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his widow, three sons, Harley and Martin, of California, and Floyd of Tama, two daughters, Mrs. Olive Dobson and Floy Marie Brown of Tama.
