Dean Branco, 11, Dies Sept. 30; Funeral Services Conducted Under Direction of Rev. L. J. Runion
Holstein – Dean Carl Branco, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Branco, was born June 1, 1929 at Holstein, and died at the Methodist Hospital in Sioux City Sept. 30, 1940, at 12:45 p.m., having reached the age of 11 years and four months. On April 9, 1933, Dean was baptized by the Rev. A. W. Gauger, who was then pastor of the local Methodist Church. He attended the Holstein Public School and was in sixth grade at the time of his death. Dean was ill but a few days of infantile paralysis and when on Monday morning he suddenly became worse, was taken to the Methodist Hospital, where all was done for him that was humanly possible but to no avail. He leaves to mourn his passing his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Branco, two brothers, Richard and Daniel, his grandmother, Mrs. F. D. Thielmann, his aunts and uncles. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Branco, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sticker, Dr. and Mrs. W. R. Fieseler and Mrs. Mildred Saba, several cousins, and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. J. Runion Wednesday, October 2 at two o’clock at the cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. A. C. Hansen and Mrs. Edwin Jatho. Burial was in charge of the H. C. Hansen funeral home.
