Mrs. Anna Kuhrts, 78, Passes Away At Holstein Wednesday, Sept. 4
Holstein – Mrs. Anna Kuhrts was born in Marne, Germany, Jan 16, 1862, and passed away at her home in Holstein, Wednesday, September 4, at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 19 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in her youth. In October 1879 she was united in marriage to Johann Kuhrts at Meldorf, Germany. To this union ten children were born, three of whom preceded their mother in death. Mr. and Mrs. Kuhrts came to America April 18, 1881, living in Benton County for two months. They then lived in Denison, Crawford County for five years. They lived around Holstein until twenty years ago when they retired and moved into Holstein. Mrs. Kuhrts leaves to mourn her passing her husband and seven children: Mrs. Fred Peacher of Cushing, John of Pierson, Henry of Holstein, Herman of Washta, Ben of Holstein, Ernest of Quimby and Mrs. Emma Daneker of Holstein and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Sept 6 at the Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Louis J. Runion in charge. Music by Mrs. Edmund Will accompanied by Mrs. Charles Volkers. Burial in the Holstein Cemetery. Pall Bearers were William Stange, Wilham Lamp, Ernest Kuchel, John Carstens, Charles Eden and Peter Gehrts. Out of town folks who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lass, and Mrs. Steve Hollens of Freemont, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Van Vlert, Phillips, Texas, Mrs. John Ehlert, Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Percher, Cushing, John Kuhrts, Pierson, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kuhrts, Faye and Ralph Grover, Pauline Kuhrts and son, Delaine, Washta, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kuhrts and family of Quimby.
