Jennie Detlefsen, 14 Passes Away Here On Sunday
Jennie Christina Detlefsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Detlefsen, died at the family home in Ida Grove Sunday, March 3 at 11:00 o’clock, after an extended illness with a heart ailment. She was born July 11, 1925 at Correctionville. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith at Battle Creek in 1937 and confirmed by Rev. O. H. Hoemann on April 9, 1939.
Surviving are her parents, three sisters, Louise, Alice and Bernice Detlefsen and a brother, Robert. Also her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koster. Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran church Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. E. C. Zschoche in charge. The pall bearers were, Claude Richardson, Lester Hagaman, Virgil Bottjen, David Jensen, Charles Burow, and Leonard Schumann. Honorary bearers were members of her confirmation class, Velma Peterson, Arlene Burk, Delores Lill, Lorraine Hagamann, Viola Lund and Bernice Lill.
