E.A. "Ed" Metz

E. A. "Ed" Metz, 84, of Melrose, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City and Holstein, Iowa, died Friday in Chariton Manor in Chariton, Iowa.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Jack Becker Funeral Home in South Sioux City. The Rev. James E. Fitzgerald of St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City will officiate. Burial will be in the Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday in the funeral home.

Mr. Metz was born Dec. 24, 1897, in Sioux City. He was a longtime resident of the Holstein area where he was a purebred cattle breeder. After his retirement in 1954, he moved to the Melrose area.

Survivors include three brothers, Louis G. of Moville, Iowa, Clarence R. of Russell, Iowa, and Clifford F. of Yuba City, Calif. and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Conway of Dakota City and Mrs. Amelia Ross of Omaha.
