Obituary
Mary Sheehan, wife of James Daly, was born in County Cork, Ireland, in 1824, and came to America with her parents in 1848, locating in New York state, where she continued to reside until married to the husband who survives her, October 2, 1854. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to Whiteside County, Illinois, where a family of six children was born, two of whom passed away in their native county. After her death which occurred Thursday, November 2, 1899, there was present besides the husband, Patrick, James Jr., Mrs. Elizah Drew, and Mrs. Johanna Tine, the surviving children. Mr. and Mrs. Daly came to Ida County in March, 1887, locating on a farm in Blaine Township, and afterwards purchased a farm in Battle Township, where they continued to reside until two years ago when they moved to this city, and occupied a home in Basset’s addition. The deceased had been a constant sufferer with heart disease and the immediate relatives had been prepared for the sudden demise. The bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of the community. Funeral services were held Saturday November 5, conducted by Rev. Father Kelley and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery west of the city.
