George Andrew Lee, son of James and Edna Lee, was born at Danbury, Iowa, November 2, 1876 and passed away in a Sioux City hospital on July 24, 1958, after a long illness.
He spent his boyhood near Danbury. On December 24, 1901 he was united in marriage with Olive M. Iddings of Mapleton. Four sons and one daughter were born to them all of whom survive.
Mr. Lee farmed for the most part of his life in the Danbury, Battle Creek and Ida Grove communities with the exception of carpentering six years in Sioux City and also spent nine years at Stevens Point, Wis. In 1951 he retired from farming and moved to the present home in Ida Grove. On December 24 of that year they observed their Golden wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his widow, Olive M., four sons, Lawrence of Ida Grove; Paul A , Balboa, Canal Zone; Myron C., Ill; Marvin M, Waterloo and one daughter, Leone (Mrs. Harold Godbersen) of Ida Grove; five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Upton of Council Bluffs.
