Nola NIELSEN 1914-1981

Funeral services for Nola Nielsen, age 66, of Bode, were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10 (1981) at St. Olaf's Church in Bode, with Pastor James Carpenter officiating. Mrs. Nielsen died Wednesday, Jan. 7 (1981) at Rochester, Minn. Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in St. Olaf Cemetery at Bode.

Casketbearers were Clifford Helland, Homer Betz, Erling Malmin, Roy Scott, Carlisle Halsrud, and James Pentico. Terry Nelson was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. James Jacobson on the organ. In charge of flower arrangements were Mrs. Fred Frost and Mrs. Neal Olson. Clarence Smith and Melvin Bratland were ushers.

Nola Benge was born at Bradgate July 25, 1914 and graduated from high school there. She married Herlev Nielsen in 1933 at her parents home near Bradgate. Mr. and Mr. Nielsen made their home in the Bode area. She was a member of the Maple Lawn Goodwill Club.

Surviving are her husband, Herlev; sons, Ronald, West Des Moines, Donald, El Segundo, Calif.; daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Ida) Hampe, Bode, Mrs. Rita Blass, Flushing, Mich.; six grandchildren; a brother, Dwayne Benge, Bradgate; and a sister, Mrs. Florence Hammer, Fort Dodge.
