Mathilda Anderson, 96, Webster City, died Saturday morning, April 20 at Crestview Manor Care Center, Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe, Reb. Robert Foster officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Lutheran Cemetery south of Duncombe. Visitation at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City is until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, when the casket will be taken to the church.
Ingeborg Mathilda Olson, daughter of Ole and Malene (Anderson) Olson, was born Dec. 5, 1895 in Bode. She attended school in Bode, and also at the Lutheran Normal School in Sioux Falls, S.D. She married Henry S. Anderson on Dec. 15, 1920 in Bode. The couple farmed southeast of Duncombe. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband in March 1965. She moved to Fort Dodge in 1973, and moved to Crestview Manor in 1985.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen (Mrs. Darrell) Bacon, Duncombe; two sons, Leonard H. and Lawrence H., both of Webster City; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and two brothers, Melvin Olson, Algona, and Rudy Olson, Humboldt.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Velma Pederson, her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe, the Lutheran Ladies Aid Society, the Mary Circle, and the quilting group.
