Grandma Holm, as she was lovingly named by her neighbors and friends, was one of the pioneer women of Humboldt County. The attribute "Grandma" she well deserved and bore with honor.
Grandma Holm loved her church and the word of her God and took active part in the life and work of her church as long as she was permitted to do so.
Unto the end she maintained a living faith in Jesus Christ as the only ground and hope of her salvation. She died a blessed death, trusting in Jesus as her Redeemer. She passed away from this life Monday, August 24 at about 8:30 pm.Mrs. Holm was married in Norway to Lars Kinseth and came with him to America in 1878. They lived on a farm in Humboldt County until Mr. Kinseth's death on 29 August 1896. In 1900 she married Nels Holm. They lived four years on the farm, but moved to town in 1904.
She was the mother of nine children, four of whom have preceded her in death. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her departure, the children: John Kinseth of Bode; Mrs. Oleana Larson of Barbscobel, WI; Mrs. Thea Jensen and Mrs. Beata Pederson of Bode and Mrs. Inga Sorlien of St. Paul, MN.
