Nils Holm was born December 1, 1863 at Moss, Norway. His parents were Anna and Peter Holm. He grew to manhood in Norway and followed the occupation of a sailor.
In 1889 he came to America and for a time worked as a farmhand. In 1900 he was united in marriage to Berte Kinseth. The lived on the farm until 1904, then moved to Bode where he lived until his death.
Mr. Holm worked at the Sween lumber yard for several years and also at the hardware store. He was of a very quiet disposition and had a host of friends.
His dear wife preceded him in death in 1936. Since that time his health has been gradually failing. At 10 o'clock on Friday morning, January 31 he had a stroke and at 4:30 pm he passed away peacefully at the age of 77 years and two months.
He leaves to cherish his memory one cousin, Mrs. Lotta Kinseth who is now at Los Angeles, CA and his step-children: John Kinseth of Bode; Mrs. L.A. Larsen, Boscobel, WI; Mrs. J.P. Jensen and Mrs. Elmer Pederson of Bode and Mrs. C.J. Sorlien of St. Paul, MN.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, February 4, 1941 at Bode with burial at Bode.
