Elizabeth "Betty" Nelson, 76, died Friday, August 16 2002, in Trinity Regional Hospital at Fort Dodge.
Funeral service for her was celebrated by the Rev. Dan Greving at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Livermore. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at Livermore, the Harris Funeral Home of Livermore in charge of arrangements.
Betty Conley, daughter of Frank and Lucy Thilen Conley, was born July 23, 1926, at Masonville, IA. She moved to Livermore with her family at an early age. Betty went to school at Livermore and graduated from Livermore High School. She then attended the American Institute of Business at Des Moines and worked at Meredith Publishing for two years.
Betty was united in marriage with Lyle Nelson on December 16, 1950, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Livermore where they live all the years they were married.
Betty worked in the First National Bank at Humboldt for 18 months, then went to the Livermore State Bank where she was employed for 25 years. She also worked with her husband who owned and operated K.O. Hardware at Livermore.
Betty was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was active in choir and served as an officer in the Ladies Guild for many years. She also served on the Livermore Library Board.
Betty is survived by her husband, Lyle and a sister, Annabelle Akey Ricketts, Baltimore, MD. There are two nieces. Her parents are deceased.
