John G. Miller 1919 - 2001

A former Livermore man, John G. Miller, 81, died Monday, Feb. 26 2001, in the Iowa Veterans Home at Marshalltown.
Funeral service for him was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, in the Harris Funeral Home at Livermore with the Rev. Dan Greving officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery at Livermore, the Harris Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
John G. Miller, son of Edward and Mary Stabler Miller, was born Dec. 1, 1919, at Williams, IA. He attended country school in the Williams area and on Feb. 10, 1941, entered the United States Army. He saw action during World War II, received the Purple Heart and was honorably discharged August 27, 1945.
After his years in the military, John returned to Williams for a short time and in the 1950s, moved to Livermore. He had been in veterans homes at Des Moines, Knoxville and Marshalltown.
He is survived by two brothers, Richard and his wife, Doris, Iowa Falls; Bernard and Dee Miller, Dubuque. Two sisters, Patricia Claude and Delores Logue, and a brother, Gerald Miller, preceded him in death.
