Myrtle B. Cook, 88, Barnum, died Oct. 15, 1996, at the home of her daughter, Joan Doster.

Services were at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, Fort Dodge, and at 10 a.m. Saturdy at Corpus Chriti Church with the Reav. Donald Ries officiating at the Mass of Christian burial. Burial in Corpus Christi Cemetery.

Surviors include daughters Jean Beer, Fort Dodge, June Glaser, Des Moines, Jane DeLa Hunt, Las Vegas, Nev., Joan Doster, Barnum, and Judith O'Leary , Badger, sons James Roswel, Georgia, Jerry, Carmel, Ind., Jon, Mount Pleasat, and Jckson., Duncombe; 35 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and sister Zelma Adams, Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willim and Helma Norman Mecham, seven brothers, one sister, granddaughter Marsha Doster, and great-grandson James Christoper Adams.

Myrtle Betty Mecham was born July 29, 1908,in Kilgore, Neb. She attended Chadron normal school in Chadron: In 1926, she married Archie G. Cook in Rochester, Minn., where they lived. In 1930, they moved to a farm near Rutland. In 1939, they moved to Fort Doge. He died in 1964. In 1995, she moved to Barnum where she lived with her daughter, Joan Doster.
