Death of Arnold Paul
Arnold Paul died at his home in Livermore on October 15th, 1903, aged 65 years, 6 months and 14 days.

Deceased was the eldest of a family of seven. Early in life he moved to Illinois where he resided until he enlisted in the army. He served in Company G, 1st Minnesota Heavey Artillery until the close of the war. He then came to Humboldt county and soon after was married to Anna Maria Richards, August 31, 1870. He lived in Humboldt county until the death of his wife April 4, 1880. During this time the three daughters were born to them: they are Mrs. Ida Jane King, Mrs. Rhoba Ann Schreiber and Miss Anna E. Paul.

After the death of his wife he returned to New York, where he was married to Julia A. Lawrence, December 10th, 1884.

In 1885 he came to Livermore, where he resided to the time of his death. He leaves a wife and three daughters, a mother, and two brothers to mourn his loss.

Deceased was quite generally known over this portion of the country, and was a man of whom it may be said he was a good, law abiding citizen
dealing fairly and honorably with his fellow men and was a kind and indulgent husband and father.

It was but a short time ago that he purchased "Oak Lawn" west of town for a home, but being informed lately of the precarious state of his health, he sold the place and was about to move off from it and try some other climate, but he grew so rapidly worse that he had no time to carry out his plans.

The funeral services were held from the residence, conducted by Rev. Farr of the Methodist church, and being very largely attended by his numerous
acquaintances. The burial took place at Union cemetery. --Livermore Gazette
