2-2-1917Obituary.
In the winter month of January on the 14th day in 1845, George H. Lovrien was born. His birthplace was Lowell, Mass. He was born in tremendous times, a time when a republic was learning to walk and as a consequence threw his life in to the solving of these problems. He was a member of Co. G., 9th Reg. Vermont Infantry Volunteers, serving faithfully and received his honorable release. He volunteered again Aug. 11, 1889, and come in to the great, army of Jesus Christ, the son of God.Mr. Lovrien was one of the early settlers of Humboldt county. With his good wife he raised an excellent family to maturity in Humboldt county and left a memory rich with good living, right thinking and beneficial acts. He was identified with the best in the county at all times, and held many positions of trust. He was honored by Senator Dolliver by being appointed postmaster of Humboldt, which position he filled just as he did every other with which he was entrusted. In short, George H. Lovrien was one of the citizens who have made Iowa what she is—an honor to his name and his state.
