Jens Sorensen, 76, died at his home about noon Wednesday. Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Wesley Anderson officiating and the Lindhart funeral home in charge.

Mr. Sorensen had been bedfast since February.

He had been a tailor by profession and had worked in the clothing stores of Humboldt and then had a shop in Wilkinson store and also in the Legion building previous to the fire.

He retired because of his health several years ago.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Leslie of Roswell, New Mexico, and two grandchildren, also three sisters, Mrs. Peter Simonsen, Mrs. Chris Fries and Mrs. Peter Nelson all of Humboldt. Peter A. Sorensen, Myron Sorensen of Humboldt, and Chris Sorensen.

Jens N. Sorensen, son of Jens P. Sorensen and wife Karen Lee Jensen, was born August 10, 1876 at Klovborg, Horsens, Denmark. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Denmark. Mr. Sorensen grew to manhood in his native Denmark, where he also learned the tailoring trade.

November 9, 1901, Mr. Sorensen was united in marriage to Karoline Laursen. To this union was born one son. Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen came to America in August of 1908. They came directly to Humboldt and this has been their home all the time with the exception of a short time spent in New Mexico.

During the many years the Sorensens have lived in Humboldt. Mr. Sorensen has plied his trade as a tailor until about five years ago when his health would no longer permit it.

Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen joined Trinity Lutheran church here in Humboldt in 1922 and have been faithful members every since.

Mr. Sorensen's health had been failing gradually for the past five years. Death came to relieve him of his physical suffering May 20, at 11:15 a.m. when he had attained to the age of 76 years, nine months and 10 days.

Left to mourn his departure are his wife, Karoline, his son, Leslie, two grandchildren, the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. John Nelson, Mrs. Chris Fries, Mrs. Peter Simonsen, Marius and Peter A. Sorensen, all of Humboldt, and Chris Sorensen of Rolfe. A large number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
