James A. White Cresco farmer dies on Friday. Funeral service is for James Alfred White 72, well known Cresco Farmer who died of a Heart Attack at his farm home Friday, were held at the
Methodist Church Monday afternoon.

The Funeral Services were conducted by the Rev. Paul Somerville, Pastor, and burial was in the Oaklawn cemetery. The Pekosh Funeral Home was in charge of Funeral arrangements.

James Alfred White son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles White, was born near Brooks, January 11, 1888.

He attended Rural School and Brooks High School, and was married to Eva Hardisty, January 24, 1911.

Mr. & Mrs. White farmed in Adams County and moved in the spring of 1921 to Howard County.

Retiring in 1956 they moved to the present farm in Winneshiek County. Mr. & Mrs. White became the parents of four sons and one daughter.

Surviving Mr. White are his wife Eva, and children, Harold White of Cresco, Russell White of Luana, Kenneth White of Cresco, Howard White of Tripoli, and Mrs. Zeno Kappes of Cresco.

There are 21 (24) living grandchildren. Also surviving were two sisters and one brother, including Mrs. William Shea of Creston, Mrs. Teresa Bender of Creston, Mr. & Mrs. A. C. Bowman
of South Dakota, Mr. & Mrs. Richard White and family, Mr. & Mrs. Ronald White and Mr. & Mrs. Larry Adresason of Waterloo, and Mrs Will Sutherland of Anamosa.
