OBITUARY.
HAYES.
Annie A. Cummings was born February 9, 1858, in Albion Township, Howard County, Iowa, and all her life was spent in this county
On January 8 1886, she was married to Joseph Hayes, of Albion Township, who died on October 31, 1914. To this union three sons were born: Thomas, who died about seven years ago, Philip, at home and Joseph who is with the American Expeditionary Forces in France.
Mrs. Hayes has been failing in health for the past year, and all that loving care and medical skill could do was of no avail. She passed away at the Rochester Hospital on Dec. 13, 1918.
Mrs. Hayes will be greatly missed in her home and also by the neighbors both young and old for whom she always had a kind word.
Besides her two sons, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Gray, of Chicago, two brothers, Philip of Chicago, and William of Cresco, all of whom attended the funeral which took place on Dec. 17th at St. Keirn’s {sic} Church, and she was laid to rest beside her husband in the adjoining cemetery. She is gone but not forgotten, for a kind memory of her will linger in the hearts of all who knew her.
