OBITUARY.
FARNSWORTH
Ora Blanche Evans, second daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Evans, was born in Lime Springs, Iowa, on Sunday, July 24, 1892, and died at her home in Cresco at 12:30 p. m. on Saturday, January 18, 1919, aged 26 years, 5 months and 25 days.
She was married to Fay O. Farnsworth Feb. 7, 1912, and to this union was born four children—Roger, aged 4½ years; Hazel, aged 3 years; Irvin, 1 year and 10 months, and an infant babe 4 weeks old.
She was stricken with Spanish influenza on Sunday, Jan. 12th, pneumonia and other complications setting in which were beyond the power of human instrumentality to relieve and she passed on to her God.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and the children in the home, her father and mother, three sisters—Gertrude, Aurilla and Bessie, and three brothers—Lloyd, Marvin and Burton, besides other relatives and sorrowing friends. Her oldest sister, Mable, having preceded her to the Great Beyond about 16 years ago.
Blanche was a true and devoted wife, a kind and loving mother and an affectionate daughter.
Her young life was surrounded by many clouds and shadows, but she never complained and always bore her trials with a smile. Her every thought and effort was for her family and loved ones, for whom she labored incessantly. She was a true and devoted Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cresco, with which she united in girlhood.
During the past few months she has daily looked for the return of her husband from the service of his country, thinking that her life would then be happy and complete, but she only saw two such happy days before she was stricken with the disease which took her life, and she passed away a few days later.
She has left a vacancy in the home that cannot be filled, a deep sorrow in the hearts of her relatives and a shadow of gloom around her friends, but she has gone to her reward, she has submitted to God’s supreme will and power and all is well with her.
Funeral services were held at home Tuesday forenoon, and in the absence of her pastor, Rev. Pettit, the service were conducted by Rev. Normann, and her form was laid to rest in the New Oregon Cemetery. Six soldier boys in uniform were the pall bearers.
