OBITUARY
FOX.
Muriel C., elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis L. Fox was born in Aberdeen, S. Dak., on Aug. 11, 1897 and departed this life on Jan. 2nd, 1919, at Washington, D. C., aged 21 years, 4 months and 22 days. Nineteen years of her young life were spent in Cresco in the family circle. She graduated from the Cresco High School in June, 1916, after which she attended the State Teacher’s College at Cedar Falls, Ia., preparatory to the year she taught in the public schools in the county. In this as in other things undertaken she was successful.
More recently her ambition led her to seek a position in the employ of the Government, and two months ago she went to Washington, D. C., and began her work. Soon she fell a victim to pneumonia, following influenza.
Muriel was a charming young woman whom to know was to love. She made many friends who will greatly deplore her early departure.
For some years she was a member of the Baptist Sunday School as she was at the time of her death. She leaves behind to mourn their loss her father and mother and younger sister, Marguerite, also many other relatives and friends. The family has the deepest sympathy of the community.
Many beautiful flowers expressed the sympathy and appreciation. The funeral services were held at the home and were conducted by the Baptist pastor, Rev. J. A. Pettit. Burial at New Oregon cemetery.
CARD OF THANKS.
We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the many friends who so kindly assisted us during our recent bereavement, also for the beautiful floral offerings.
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Fox
and daughter Marguerite.
