Death of T. J. Armstrong.
The death of Thomas John Armstrong, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Armstrong, of Lime Springs, Iowa, brought a feeling of great sorrow to all his relatives and cast a gloom over all of his many friends and acquaintances.
The deceased was born at Decorah, Iowa, Feb. 3, 1883, and has lived practically all his life in the neighboring community. He was of a jolly disposition and kind hearted We long in vain to hear the ring of his jovial laughter and to feel again his genial presence and everyone who knew Thomas (better known as “Tom”) feels that one of our splendid young men ahs been called to his reward.
Friday Nov. 29th, he and Miss Regina Kelly went to Lawler to visit Pearl Kelly, returning Saturday, Nov. 30th. That evening they were both taken ill with influenza and medical aid was immediately sought but Monday, Dec. 9th, at 11 a. m. Tom, fortified by the rites of the Catholic Church, passed peacefully away at the home of Mrs. Celia Kelly.
The funeral which was private was held Tuesday morning from the Mrs. Celia Kelly home, interment being made in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. The beautiful floral offerings were many.
The deceased leaves to mourn his sudden passing, his father and mother, one sister, Nellie, of Lime Springs, Iowa, and five brothers, Joe of Chester, Will of Riceville, Louis, Roy and Georgie of Lime Springs. One brother, Rob, preceded him in death last June.
Mention ought to be made also of a dear friend he leaves, Regina Kelly, to whom he was betrothed and who is ill with influenza.
The pall bearers were Cleve R. Heinmiller, Pierce Cashman, Pierce Clare, Dr. Graf, Francis Gleason and Charles Sullivan.—Elma New Era.
