The remains of Mrs. Anna Humphrey, one of Howard County’s old residents, were brought here from Milbank, S. Dak., Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services were held yesterday morning at 10 o’clock at the Methodist church, Rev. Bockoven officiating.

OBITUARY.
HUMPHREY.
Anna Goodno was born in Nicholsville, St. Lawrence County, New York, December 11, 1837. She was first married to Daniel Barrett, of New York, and then came west till her husband was killed in the battle at Pea Ridge, Missouri. Came to Iowa in 1857, where her life was for the most part lived. She again married, in 1870, to John W. Humphrey who died in 1898. She departed this life on June 10, 1918, at the home of her daughter, at Milbank, S. D., where she has lived for a year and a half.
She was the mother of four children, two of whom, Mrs. Phoebe Trask, of Blunt, S. D., and Loren B. Humphrey, of Cresco, are dead; two are living, Mrs. Lucinda Quirk, of Milbank, S. D. and Guy D. Humphrey, of Cresco, Iowa. She leaves also one brother in New York, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren to mourn her loss.
The remains were brought to Cresco for interment, the funeral being held on Thursday last in the m. E. Church, conducted by Rev. Bockoven.
