OBITUARY

RADCLIFF.

Charles Alfred Radcliff was born at Lewis, Kansas on July 31, 1918{sic}. For the first four years of his life, he was a strong, vigorous, healthy child. On Jan. 10, 1917 he was seized with a severe attack of pneumonia which lasted for twelve weeks. From March 11 to May 9, he was cared for in a hospital at Hutchison, Kansas. After six months, he was able to be up and around for about five months but from that time on he was confined to his bed and carriage. During this whole period of a year and five months, he has been under the care of doctor. All that medical skill, good nursing, hospital treatment and loving hands could do has been done. The long vigils of loving self sacrificing parents, nurses and kind friends has been a willing service gladly rendered and all that human hands and loving hearts could do has been done.

Charles Alfred was a lovable child and showed the results of Christian training. His name was placed on the cradle roll of the Sunday School at two weeks old; dedicated to God in baptism by Rev. McNeal at Lewis, Kansas in March 1916; starting in the primary department of the S. S. at the age of three where, for several months, it was the delight of his heart to attend. He called the church the S. S. house and when out riding, he always wanted to go “by the S. S. room,” where were the pictures, the sand tables, the singing and the pleasant S. S. teachers. Like Christ of earth, he wanted to be with the children and about his father’s business.

Very peacefully his little spirit went back to God to be among the angels in the kingdom which Christ has prepared for the children on the flower gardens of Heaven to be a rosebud in the diadem of the Savior. In the early morning of June 13th his spirit winged its flight to the bosom of Christ to be at rest and a shining star to all kind friends on earth, age 4 years, 11 months and 12 days. The funeral service was held at the home on 2nd Ave. E. on Sunday afternoon, June 16th, conducted by Rev. E. G. Copeland and assisted by Rev. W. A. Bockoven. Interment was made at New Oregon cemetery.
