OBITUARY.
Serena Williams was born March 1, 1882, and died in Montevidio{sic}, Minn., May 31, 1918, at the home of her sister Antonia. She was born and raised at the old farm home two miles east of Lime Springs, Ia. She was educated at Lime Springs High School, later taking a course of study which included shorthand, bookkeeping and typewriting at the U. I. U. at Fayette, Ia., in the year 1905. She went to Minneapolis in the fall of 1906 and secured a position with the Realty Co., and was a faithful employe to the Co. for 12 years. She was a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church of Minneapolis. She leaves to mourn her death her mother, Mrs. W. R. Williams, two sisters Mrs. Levi Jones of Bristol, Mrs. S. G. Eliason of Montevido{sic}, Minn., and two brothers, Lewellyn R. Williams and Stanley Williams. All were present at the funeral. Interment was made at Lime Springs on Monday being held from the Welsh Church. Here a large company of friends gathered and her pastor Rev. S. G. Prydderch of Minneapolis who was a special delegate from the church which had long been her home, spoke with deep, special feeling of their deep sorrow and appreciation of the life and work of Serena. Rev. David Edwards also spoke feelingly to the ones bereaved. Those who knew her best knew the hopeful, earnest, sanctified devotion that always characterized her.
