OBITUARY
Gladman.
Alice L. Pope was born at Provincetown, Whiteside county, Ill., Feb. 9, 1851, and there most of her life was spent. Later the family moved to Geneseo, Ill.
On Nov. 3, 1876, she was united in marriage to John L. Gladman at Geneseo, Ill, where they continued to reside. To them was born one child, Roy E. Gladman of Cresco, who still survives. The husband and father departed this life Oct. 8, 1951. After the departure of her husband Mrs. Gladman was invited to come to Cresco to live at the home of her son Roy where he and his good wife have tenderly and lovingly cared for her. Everything that kind hands and loving hearts would do has been done to make her last years comfortable and happy.
In early life Mrs. Gladman joined the United Brethren church but most of her life she attended and worshipped at the Methodist Episcopal church. She loved to read her Bible and almost to the very last kept it within easy reach. She was a woman of great industry, patient in the many trials of life and always a faithful, kind and loving wife and mother. She departed this life April 13, 1918, aged 67 years.
To cherish a memory most dear and beautiful she leaves the son and his wife besides three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ware of Charleston, S. C., Mrs. Lottie Clark of Waverly, Kan., Mrs. Willon Keener of Kansas City, Mo., and two brothers, L. B. Pope of Waverly, Kan., and E. C. Pope of Walnut Shade, Mo.
The funeral services were held at the home of Roy E. Gladman on 4th Ave. E. Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock, conducted by Rev. E. G. Copeland. Miss Adah Robinson and Miss Katherine Davis sang two beautiful selections. Interment was made at Geneseo, Ill.

CARD OF THANKS.
We desire to thank our neighbors and friends for their kindness during the sickness of our mother, Mrs. Alice Gladman and for the beautiful floral offerings at the funeral.
Mrs. {sic} and Mrs. Ray{sic} Gladman
