Elma Banker Dies Suddenly.
Maurice Despres of Elma, Iowa, senior member of the M. Despres & Son bank of that city, died suddenly Saturday evening. He had not been real well for some time, but the end came when his family and friends little expected it. The cause is given as the hardening of the arteries.
With the assistance of Mrs. Despres, he had mounted the stairway of his home and had laid down on the bed. Mrs. Despres went down stairs, but returned shortly. She thought him asleep, but upon closer examination, found that his spirit had gone. He was dead.
Mr. Despres had lived at Charles City for years and from there moved to Chicago. When his son, Sam, bought the Elma bank he came to that place, which until death remained his home. He is survived by his wife and three sons.— New Hampton Tribune.
