A few weeks ago it was discovered that he was suffering with an incurable disease and in the last few weeks he was a great sufferer.
He departed this life Sunday evening, June 27,{?} at the age of 52 years and 10 months. He leaves to mourn his departure: one brother, H. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon in the Methodist church, Rev. Maxwell preaching the sermon, assisted by Rev. Williams and Rev. Burgess. Dr. Robertson of Cresco offered prayer at the home. At the close of the sermon the service was turned over to the Masons as he was a member of that order in Cresco. He was buried in the cemetery east of town.
