Anna M. Werhan, daughter of Wm. and Heniretta Werhan was born in Hanover, Germany, in 1839, and died at Cresco, September 9, 1911.
She came to America with her parrents{sp} in 1849 and settled in Cook county, Illinois for three years, and from there came to Iowa and settled at Forest Mills. In 1860 she was married to John Beucher and they resided near Waukon, several years, from there they moved to a farm near Ridgeway and lived there till 1895, when they moved to Cresco where they lived until the death of her husband three years ago.
She leaves to mourn four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Hettie Loughrey, Mrs. Emma Kuntz, Mrs. Nettie Reinhart and John Beucher of Cresco and vicinity; Mrs. Mary Kuntz and Charles Beucher of Cavour, S. D., (two sons preceded her in death;) two brothers, Julius Werhan of Culver, Kansas, and Theodore Werhan, of Waukon, Ia; and 18 grandchildren,
Mrs. Beucher was a consistent Christian, and a faithful member of the M. E. church. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Gammons, assisted by Rev. D. N. Parker were held at the house Monday morning. Interment in Oak Lawn.
