Dr. Dahl of Menominee, Wis., arrived Monday afternoon to attend the funeral of his wife’s mother, Mrs. E. R. Thompson.

Mrs. E. R. Thompson passed away Friday morning and was buried yesterday afternoon, Rev. M. Hartman conducting the services, which were held at the house.

OBITUARY.
THOMPSON.
Mrs. E. R. Thompson, nee Julia Solberg, was born in Highland Township, Winneshiek County, Iowa, Feb. 17, 1859, where she resided with her father and mother. In 1871 she accompanied her father and family to their new home at Twelve Mile Lake Township. Emmet County, Iowa, and resided there until her marriage to E. R. Thompson on Oct. 25, 1880, at Swan Lake, Iowa, since which time she has resided in Cresco, Iowa.
She was taken sick with aenemia in the early part of May and was taken to St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital, June 19th. After hovering between life and death for several days, she was finally released from her sufferings on Friday evening, June 23, 1911, at the hour of 8:15.
Mrs. Thompson was always a constant Christian and a faithful member of the Lutheran church, and always was an active member of the Ladies Aid Society. She was baptized by Rev. Stubt at Big Canoe church and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. Halseth at Esterville, Iowa, in 1874.
She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and five children, two sisters and two brothers.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the home, Rev. Hartman of St. James, Minn., officiating. Interment was at Oak Lawn.
Those attending the funeral from out of town were Mrs. H. R. Grinde of Bowman, N. D., daughter of the deceased; Dr. L A. Dahl, Menominee, Wis.; O. C. Johnson and daughter, Decorah, Iowa; H. C. Hjerleid, Decorah, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Wenness, Hesper, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. John Salnes, Hesper, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Salnes, Hesper, Iowa; Mr. Theo. Salnes, Highlandville, Iowa.
