Suicide Near Lime Springs.
Miss Anna M. Ehrke, who lived with her brother on the old home farm, about two miles east of Lime Springs, committed suicide by shooting herself yesterday afternoon. She first shot herself through the left lung and then sent a bullet into her right temple, the latter causing instantaneous death. A revolver was the weapon used.
The brother was in Cresco on business and found his sister dead upon his arrival home early in the evening. Coronor Plummer was called and after a careful examination of the body and the circumstances decided it an undoubted case of suicide and that an inquest was unnecessary. The deed was premeditated as the suicide had carefully laid her best clothes out in the parlor for her burial before going to her bedroom where she ended her life. She was somewhat crippled and since the sudden death of her father last fall has been somewhat despondent, and to the neighbors had frequently expressed the wish that she might also die.

EHRKE.
Anna M. Ehrke was born June 20th, 1868, at Crystal Lake, McHenry county, Ill. She grew to young woman-hood in that vicinity. In November, 1881, she moved with her parents to Howard county, Iowa, where she prospered with them for a number of years. In the spring of 1898 she was afflicted with inflammatory rheumatism, lying abed all summer, and which resulted in leaving the joints in two of her limbs permanently stiffened.
The next summer her mother passed away very suddenly while they were out riding, leaving her to assume the cares and responsibilities of her father’s household, which she did faithfully and well until his sudden death last September. Since that time she seemed to grow despondent and brood over her physical and financial condition, which no doubt had much to do with her untimely end, which came April 28th at her home near Lime Springs. She is survived by two sisters and one brother.
The funeral service took place Saturday afternoon, April 30th, at the home with Rev. Williams speaking from Ps. 57:1. A large concourse of friends followed the remains to the cemetery at Lime Springs. She had been identified with the Methodist church since July 4th, 1897, having been converted under the pastorate of Rev. H. J. Bowder.
