MILES.
Miss Louise Miles was born June 1, 1883, in Howard county, Iowa. She graduated from the Cresco high school in the class of '99, which was one of the largest ever sent out by the school. She studied a year in Grinnell college, but completed her education in Upper Iowa University at Fayette. She taught school for some time, but in 1903 went to Madison, Wis., to take a position as stenographer in the office of the secretary of state. Two years ago her health failed and she was compelled to give up her position. She has since been traveling in search of health, but her efforts were unavailing and she died in Prescott, Arizona, April 21, 1910. The funeral was held at the Congregational church Wednesday afternoon, April 27th, and the body was interred in Oaklawn. Miss Miles was an earnest Christian girl and was for several years a member of the Congregational church of this place and she will be deeply mourned by a large circle of friends.
