OBITUARY.
John Fitzgerald died at the home of his son Patrick, near Lourdes, April 3, 1910, in the 88th year of his age. Deceased was born in County Tipperary, Ireland. In 1847 he was united in marriage to Margaret Benn, after which they emigrated to America and settled in Connecticut. In 1857, they came to Iowa and settled in Howard County, where they resided until death. To this happy union, seven children were born, five of whom survive. They are William of Cresco, Mrs. Dennis Collins of New Hampton, Pat of Lourdes, and Mike and Mrs. James Mulcahy of Minneapolis, all of whom were at his bedside when he died.
The funeral was held Monday morning from the Catholic church at Lourdes. Rev. Father Norris officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the church, beside those of his wife, who preceded him 13 months.-Lawler Dispatch.
