ALBERS.
Henry Albers was born the 6th day of July, 1840 in Oldenburg, Germany, and died at his home in Cresco, Feb. 1st, 1910, at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 26 days.
At eighteen years of age he came with his parents to America and settled in Illinois. Forty-six years ago he came to Winnesheik county, Iowa, where he was married the following year to Miss Elizabeth Horr. This union was blessed with eleven children two of which preceded the father in death.
About twenty-seven years ago he with his family moved onto their farm near Ridgeway where they resided up to about two years ago, when they came to Cresco where he died.
About twenty-eight years ago the the{sic} deceased embraced religion and identified himself with the German M. E. church. A number of years he was a member of the Evangelical association. He endeavored to keep up his family worship day by day. His last testimony was that he was fully resigned to the will of God, and prepared to go home.
He leaves to mourn his sorrowing widow, and nine children, George and Clara Kuntz of Lake Benton, Minn., Anna Reinhart of Howard county, Ia., Emma Blackburn, Henry and John of Winnesheik county, Iowa., Albert, Fred and Edwin at home; twenty-five grandchildren, and one greatgrandchild, besides a large circle of other relatives and friends.
The funeral occurred Friday afternoon from the home and the M. E. church conducted by Revs. Schwab and Gammons. Interment at the Oaklawn cemetery.
