On last Wednesday occurred the death of little Gertrude Elgas at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Mike Elgas. The little girl had been ill for several weeks and although hopes for her recovery were entertained the little one became rapidly worse and on Wednesday passed peacefully away into the arms of her Saviour. She was a bright, lovable child and her parents were called only too soon to part with one with whom they were so greatly attached. Her death is a sad blow to the sorrowing family and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing parents. The funeral was held from the Immaculate Conception church on Friday morning. The casket bearing the mortal remains of the little one was tenderly carried by four pall bearers, Anna German, Anna Jewett,
Esther Biwer and ______ _______. Six little flower bearers carried flowers and these were gently laid on the casket of their deceased playmate. The flower bearers were Cecelia Goughan, Terrence Cannon, Maurice Condon, Agnes and Marguerite Monaghan and Libbie Keefe. The PLAIN DEALER joins with the family’s many friends in extending their heartfelt sympathy to them in their bereavement.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone photo shows she was born in 1906 and is buried in Calvary Elma Cemetery.
