Mrs. John Sims, mother of Mrs. Claude Weatherford of this village died at her home in Granger yesterday morning after an illness lasting all winter

OBITUARY.
SIMS.
Mrs. John Sims of Granger, whose death we briefly mentioned last week, was born at Waterbury, Vermont, August 8th, 1844, and her maiden name was Elizabeth Woodward. When six years old she came with her parents to Sauk county, Wis., and settled in the village of Sauk. Here she grew to womanhood, received her education and taught in the high school until the family again moved in 1862, this time to Granger, Minn. The following year, 1863, she was married to John Sims on Nov. 25, Thanksgiving day, by Rev. Rev. Toel.
Two years later she united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Granger and has ever been a faithful member since.
She leaves to mourn her death, a husband and five children, all of whom were with her to the last, except one son Walter, residing in Washington. She also leaves her aged mother, one sister and two brothers.
She was 64 years, 9 months and 4 days old at the time of her death.
She was a devoted wife and most loving mother, quiet and unassuming, and made friends wherever she was known, among the young as well as the old. Her quiet, faithful Christian life has been a help to many in the community in which she lived so many years.
Funeral services were held in the M. E, church at Granger, Minn., Rev. J. B. Utton officiating. A large congregation was present at the funeral and accompanied her remains to their last resting place.
