CARPENTER.
Squire B. Carpenter was born in the town of Water, Erie County, New York, April 12, 1839. He removed to Marilla. Erie County, New York, when quite young and resided there until 1865, when he came west and settled in Fillmore county, Minn. About the year 1876 he came to Cresco, which has since been his home. In 1863 he was united in marriage to Clara Robinson at Marilla, New York, who died in Cresco in 1902. In June 1903 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Estella Webb of Morilla,{sic} New York. They resided in Cresco until last fall, when they went east to spend the winter. He was taken ill during the latter part of winter which terminated fatally Wednesday morning, March 31, 1909. He was 69 years, 11 months and 19 days of age. He leaves beside the bereaved wife, three brothers, Lewis, of Marilla, N. Y.; Geo. W. of Watertown, S. D., and Chas. of St. Paul, Minn., the last named being pres¬nt at the funeral. Funeral services were largely attended and held at the M. E. church of Cresco, Sunday, p. m., conducted by Rev. Gammons. Interment was in Oak Lawn.
