Darlene Byrnes, age 91, of Cresco, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. A celebration of life will be held at noon on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Calvary Cemetery in rural Cresco with Rev Jacob Rouse officiating. Graveside services will be followed by a light luncheon at Notre Dame Catholic Church.

Darlene was born on April 10th, 1928 to Clara and William Birtwistle. Darlene had and raised 2 children, Jean and Robert. On July 4, 1976 she married the love of her life, John “Jack” Byrnes and they never looked back; enjoying traveling the world together with adventure at every turn, always side by side. “Gramoo”, as she was affectionately known to by those closest to her, had a sympathetic and warm hearted approach to life and was always a provider to those in need. Grandma loved her “kitties”, gardening, travel and spending time with friends and family. She will be deeply missed.

Darlene is survived by her sister, Linda, son Robert, grandson Bradley and 2 great grandchildren, Annabelle and Jack.
