Anna B. Taft was born July 25, 1827, in Onondaga county, New York. In 1834 she moved with her parents to Sandusky county, Ohio, where she was married to M. N. Holcomb, Sept. 9, 1843. Three children were born to them, J. A. and H. E. Holcomb and Mrs. W. P. Clark, all residing in Albion township. These with six grand children, one great grand child and three brothers survive her. In 1846 Mr. and Mrs. Holcomb and her parents moved to Hillsdale county, Mich., where they resided for eleven years, again entered the train of westward moving settlers and took up a new home in Albion township. This was their last move, as this had been her home ever since. On May 20, 1899, her husband departed from her into the great unknown future, whither she has now gone to join him. On Monday evening, April 20, she was stricken with paralysis, and after three days of suffering, she pass¬ed away, Thursday, April 23, 1908, at the home of her son James. Her many friends gathered in the Albion church to pay their last respects to one whom they all loved. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery on Saturday. The services were conducted by Rev. Elver of Bonair.
