Austin Wentworth died very suddenly on Wednesday as the result of a stroke apoplexy. He had been at work all day helping load ice at the Vernon mill pond, when he was taken suddenly ill and removed to his home, passing away in about three hours without regaining consciousness. He leaves a large family of a wife and elev¬n children. The funeral took place this afternoon at the M. E. Church.

Austin Wentworth, the second of a large family of children, was born October 2, 1864, in Canada, where he resided until 23 years of age when he came with his parents to Cresco. His death occurred January 15, 1908.
November 1, 1888, he was united in marriage to Lexy McKay and to them eleven children were born, all of whom survive to mourn the loss of husband and father.
The funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Gammons. Interment was in Oak Lawn cemetery.
