Elias Williams, of Fargo, N. D., arrived Saturday to attend the funeral of his father, Mr. Ed. Williams.

Mrs. Mary Smith of Milwaukee came Saturday to attend the funeral of her father, Mr. Edward Williams.

The funeral of Edward Williams was held at the Welsh church Sunday, Rev. Lang officiating. He was laid to rest in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Edward Williams was born August 28, 1828, in Abergela, Dembyshire, North Wales. At the age of 27 years, he was married to Elizabeth Jones. The same year, 1855, they came to America and settled in Wisconsin, and in 1876 they came to Iowa and settled in Howard County, Eight children were born to them; two daughters preceeded him in death, and three sons and three daughters survive to mourn his loss. Five of the sons and daughters were present at the funeral. Mrs. Williams died January 24, 1907, and since that time Mr. Williams has made his home with his daughter Mrs. C. M. Nash. In August, Mr. Williams visited a daughter in Dakota returning about six weeks before his death. Since then he has failed rapidly, although he was able to be about town till a few days before his death. He passed quietly away, Friday morning at 7:15 o’clock, at the age of 79 years 3 months and 1 day. Mr. Williams is spoken of as an honest, hard working man. He will be missed by many who have seen him and known him for years.
