Frank Morse, whose illness we mentioned in our last issue, passed away early Tuesday morning and was buried in New Oregon cemetery on Thursday afternoon. On account of the illness of the little daughter with scarlet fever public funeral ceremonies were necessarily dispensed with.

Franklin Morse was born in Cassaoplis, Mich., in 1846, and died in Cresco, Iowa, Nov. 27, 1907, aged 60 years, 11 months and 27 days.
Several years of his childhood were spent in Wayne, Lafayette county, Wis. In 1856 he came to New Oregon township, and from thence to Cresco in 1873. In 1878 he was married to Miss Anna Hunt, who with her two daughters, Mrs. Frank Foye of Madison and Myrtle are left to mourn and miss him.
Farming was his chief occupation, conducted with energy and success.
On the evening of November 18th, while assisting with the chores he stepped on a nail which penetrated the ball of the foot causing intense suffering and terminating in lock-jaw.
A marked sincerity in the grief of those who know him best testify to those qualities of heart that make and hold friends. He has passed on--
