Mrs. David Brooks died Saturday, March 31st, and was buried this afternoon. Obituary later.

OBITUARY.
BROOKS:
Chloretta Mead, daughter of Washington and Catharine Mead, was born in Peekskill, New York, in the year 1841, at what is now known as the Henry Ward Beecher summer home, and died at the home of Geo. H. Kellogg in Cresco, Ia., on March 31, 1906.
At the age of ten years she moved with her parents to Madison, Wis., where her early life was spent. In the year 1859, she was united in marriage with David H. Brooks at Madison, where they lived for some time. From Madison they moved to a farm near Ossian Ia. Living there for several years. From Ossian they moved to Sanborn, Ia, then to Sioux City, Ia., finally coming to Cresco in 1899, where they moved onto a farm south of Cresco, where they have since lived.
Four children were born to the, Mrs. W. H. Cummings, of Belton, Montana, Mrs. Geo. H. Kellogg, of Cresco, Ia., Mrs. Chas. King, of Omaha, Neb., all of whom were present at the funeral, and William F. Brooks who died at the age of 15.
Mrs. Brooks was one of a family of seven children. Two sisters, Mrs. Alice Kincamon, of Wauzeka, Wis., Mrs. John Hickey, of Cresco, Ia., and four brothers, C. W. and N. Mead, of Madison, Wis., and George and Edwin Mead still survive her.
The funeral services were held in the Methodist church, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment in New Oregon Cemetery. Rev. John Gammons officiating.

Among those from abroad who were called to Cresco by the death of Mrs. David Brooks, were Mr. and Mrs. N. Brooks, of Madison, Wis., Mrs. Alice Kincannon, of Wauzeka, Wis., Mrs. W. H. Cummings, of Belton, Montana, Mrs. Chas. King, of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Geo. Freeman, of Mason City, Iowa.
