Philip Mead, son of Philip Mead and a brother of Chas. B. Mead of Geneva, Ill., and Mrs. Alice Kearns of Riceville, and a former resident of Cresco, was killed last Sunday morning at Waupaca, Wis. He was a freight conductor on the Wisconsin Central and while attending to some switching was struck and crushed by a train coming from another direction on a parellel track. He resided at Fon du Lac, Wis., and leaves a wife.
