W. J. Huber of New Oregon twp., who lived on the J. J. Farley farm, died last Tuesday and was laid to rest in the cemetery at Protivin on Thursday. He was an honest, upright man and a good citizen. He leaves a widow and family to mourn his death, he was aged 35 years and 8 months.

Transcriber’s Note: Holy Trinity Cemetery shows he was born February 16, 1867 and died October 16, 1901

The Angel of Death paid us his unexpected and undesirable visit since our last correspondence by taking away in the prime of life two of our good neighbors, Will Huber aged about 35 years, and Joseph Kostka aged 35 years who died Oct. 29th, after less than a week’s sickness; both were prominent members of the M. W. A , then the only child of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Burnett died Nov. 3rd.
